A non-trivial quantum field theory (QFT) in four dimensions is not in sight. We are working on a programme which formulates QFT on a noncommutative geometry and uses techniques from matrix models and algebraic geometry to rigorously construct these QFT models. The simplicity of the resulting models permits explicit and exact formulae for all desired correlation functions. The ultimate goal is to prove positivity properties which would translate the constructed models into a true quantum field theory. We are not yet there.
