IRFD grant for QuantBio

December 4, 2017

Ilia Solov’yov of the QuantBio group has received DKK 2.5M from the Independent Research Fund Denmark for the research project “Unraveling toxicity through bc1 complex inhibition by atomistic simulations”. The three-year project will use atomistic simulations to study the mechanisms behind metabolic inhibitors used as antibiotics or antiparasitic drugs against e.g. the malaria parasite. A particular focus will be on the mechanism of acquired drug resistance in parasites, and the outcomes of the project could potentially aid in future drug development efforts.
